I wish. However, I paid very close attention to Barrett's confirmation process, particularly her personal, legal, and educational background. While I don't necessarily doubt that she would support a coup if she thought it would help bring about a theocracy that lines up with her belief system...never mind. I get your point.

My argument is that she was chosen because she'd support the coup. There was a long list of people the Federalist Society provided McConnell. Her name was just below Kavanaugh's and while Trump was throwing a bone to the masses, I have little doubt that in his mind, he knew he'd need to rely on the court for his scheme.

After seeing Roberts "cave" on Obamacare, he wanted to choose better (for his own prospects).

Trump was very careful on overturning Roe. While he came out very much pro-choice in his first attempts at a run (under Perot's party) he supported the pro-life movement in the second person. "You want Roe overturned, I'm your man," and not "I will overturn Roe."

Knowing Trump's linguistic patterns for as long as I have, I knew he was pandering but never believed it, probably because he's paid for more than one himself and if that came out...

I understand. That's what I was attempting to convey with the ellipses. I have never understood why none of the many ( I assume) women who have had Trump abortions have never come forward. Money? Credible threats? Already dead?
